Here are 10 signs of cancer women often ignore:
1. Breast discoloration or dimpling
Signs of breast cancer involves lumps on breasts, but several other factors, such as nipple inverting, tenderness, change of skin texture, dimpling, swelling, and slight discoloration of skin (to pink or deeper red) can also be a cause of major concern.
2. Postmenopausal bleeding
After menopause, it’s quite uncommon to have period-like bleeding. So you might have uterine cancer if you have persistent bleeding.
During your period, it’s okay to experience bloating. But if you consistently feel constipated or bloated after your cycle finishes, it could be a symptom of uterine or ovarian cancer.
4. Pelvic pain
Having irregular periods is unusual. If you experience pelvic pain or have bleeding between your periods, get a trans-vaginal ultrasound to check for ovarian or uterine cancer.
5. Chronic coughing
Chronic cough (for three weeks or more) is an early symptom of lung cancer.
6. Nausea or stomach pain
Get yourself checked if you have an upset stomach accompanied by nausea, which shows no signs of getting better. Yes, it could be a stomach ulcer, but it might also be an early sign of liver, colorectal, leukemia, pancreatic, or esophageal cancer.
7. Unexplained weight loss
You might have digestive or colon cancer if there is a significant decrease in your weight and appetite.
8. Infection or frequent fevers
If you get sick or feel feverish despite normally being a healthy person, there’s the chance that you could be suffering from leukemia. With this disease, your body produces abnormal white blood cells and becomes weak at fighting infection. Thus, your immune system depletes.
9. Excessive bruising
You should get yourself checked if you notice unusual bruises in strange places, such as your fingers or hands. It can be an early sign of leukemia.
10. CHRONIC HEADACHES
If you’re not prone to migraines but pop an ibuprofen every day, then it could be a sign of a brain tumor pressing on the nerves.
