Dewy-skin makeup has been trending a lot recently, thanks to the new wave of Korean makeup. However if you have oily skin, you are probably still finding ways to remove that excess oil from your forehead and chin.
Here are seven tips that can help you keep that excessive oil under control.
It is generally believed that toners make your skin dry. On the contrary, toners are blessing for women with oily skin. To make sure that you get rid of the excess oil and have a fresh look every morning, choose an alcohol-free toner and use it after cleansing.
2. Exfoliate regularly
Since oily skin tends to cause a build-up of dirt and dead skin, your complexion becomes dull. Exfoliating with a gentle chemical (such as salicylic acid) will help remove the excessive oil and keep your skin oil-free.

3. Strategically moisturise
Even if you have oily skin, your skin quickly dehydrates. Skipping out on moisturizer can be damaging, as it causes your skin to produce more oil in order to balance the dryness. So opt for moisturizers with oil-free formulas or lightweight gels to keep your skin hydrated.
4. Reverse application
Almost everyone starts from the middle of the face while moisturizing. However, working the T-zone can make your skin oilier, as most of the moisturizer gets applied there. So start from the outer surface area and move inward with the remaining lotion.
5. Blog before applying any makeup
Once you are done moisturizing, blot your face with a blotting paper to remove any extra oil before applying your makeup. That way, you will have a fresh canvas and your makeup will last longer.
6. Use a primer
Now who doesn’t know the marvellous effects of prepping your skin with primer? But most people don’t know that it’s also a great finisher! Once you’re done with your foundation, dab a little bit of primer on your T-zone or your greasiest area. Thus, you will tamp down any shine. Next, set your makeup without putting that extra layer of powder, which gives you a heavy look. And voila! You’re done.

7. Choose the right make-up
Steer clear of anything that says “dewy” or “luminous” on the label. Instead, opt for ingredients that’re “oil-free”, “matt,” or “translucent.” Choose powders, lightweight liquids, and gels over heavier creams.
